I
started my work experience at a clothing shop for 10 days. I worked with women who worked there.
One of these ladies was young. She was the same age as me. The
work started at 9 am and finished at 5 pm. The time went fast
when Iwas there, because I enjoyed the work. My job was to arrange
the clothes in the store and in the small room I did many things.
When the delivery man brought the boxes of clothes, we had to
check if everything was right and then I put the secruity tags
on the clothes and hang them up. The two weeks of work experience
was perfect for me in the store. I enjoyed it very much and they
were lovely days. I hope to find a job like this in the future.

I had two
weeks work experience as a cashier in Star Mart. I enjoyed my
work experience a lot but it was a little bit hard from me because
I had to work six hours with short breaks.
I liked all
the staff who worked there and they were all very friendly and
also very helpful. Two people who worked on my shift were both
from different countries. Because I like the job very much, I
applied for a part-time job there and I am going to start working
there soon.

To
improve my work skills in my home country of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
I decided to travel to New Zealand to learn English. I chose Wellington
because I had a friend already living there.
Once in Wellington, I visited several language schools but decided
to enroll with ETC Learning Centre in Wellington. I chose ETC
Learning Centre because it has a different style of learning. The
teachers have good experience and they make sure that students understand
everything.

The
staff at ETC Learning Centre look after the students well and arrange
trips to see interesting things. They arranged for me to visit special
places of interest to me such as: Wellington Airport, some fire stations
in
Wellington
and the N.Z. Fire Service central communications centre. They also
arranged for me to attend some courses at Christchurch Airport and
a fire training centre in Auckland. I was very happy about this.

During my time
at ETC, my English has improve and I have gained confidence in speaking
English with other people.
My stay at ETC Learning Cenre, Wellington was very good and my experience
has been extremely rewarding. The people there understood my needs
very well and did all they could to benefit me. Really, they gave
me a good chance to do what I wanted.
I thank them
very much, especially Annette Drury (Manager), Clare Davidson (director
of studies) and all teachers for looking after my needs so well.
I definitely recommend ETC Learning Centre to any person who wants
to come to New Zealand to study and improve their English.

I
did my work experience at a library for two weeks. I was on the
desk so I was returning and issuing books, shelving books, answering
the phone, photocopying and using the computer for other things.
I
worked with three women, Jane, Kate and Christine. Some things
I liked in my work experience were photocopying and answering
the phone. I enjoyed working there and I would like to work there
because the library is a busy place and because I like the many
different jobs.
I want to get a job in a library or book store.
