| Certificate
in English Language Competence (IELTS Academic) |
This
course develops the writing, reading, speaking, and listening
skills for the IELTS test. One programme is for students
wanting to gain 6.0 to 7.0 or higher and another for students
wanting 5.0 or higher.
Both are intensive study programmes and require serious
students who are willing to study in the classroom 25 hours
per week, and another 10 to 15 hours self study.
Students can sit the IELTS test in Palmerston North and
Wellington, tests are held every 4 weeks.

This
very popular course is suitable for students with elementary,
basic, pre-intermediate or intermediate English.
We have different classes at each level. Students who complete
this course can advance to the academic English course.
The course is also suitable for international students who
are planning to work or study in New Zealand. |

in English for Living in New Zealand (Academic
and Employment) |

This
course introduces students to different aspect of New Zealand
society and culture. Topics include recycling, shopping,
employment issues, taxation and employment. Reading, writing,
speaking, and listening skills are integrated into the programme.

Certificate in English
Language Competence (OET Occupational English for medical
nurses) |
| Our OET course is specifically
designed to help nurses,while other medical professions
may study this course. The focus will be English for nurses.
This 6 month course covers the writing reading speaking
and listening requirements of the OET test. When ever possible
lessons use medical contexts, this not only helps in the
preparation of the OET test, it also increases students
understanding of medical issues. |

What
is the OET Occupational English Test?
The
test measures the language competency of health professionals
who are seeking registration and the ability to practice
in an English-speaking context. It is designed to ensure
that language competency is assessed in a relevant professional
context. The OET is administered by the OET Centre six
times a year.
Currently the OET tests the following professions
Dentistry Pharmacy
Dietetics Podiatry
Medicine Physiotherapy
Nursing Radiography
Occupational Therapy Speech Pathology
Optometry Veterinary Science
ETC Learning Centre is the first educational centre in New Zealand

Palmerston North, Auckland
and Christchurch are all testing centres for OET.
