Marty has taught in or managed English and ESOL schools since 1977. He has taught in Iran, England and New Zealand and has written popular English text books. He has also been on the executive of TESOLANZ, the national ESOL teachers' association, since 1997. Marty enjoys learning languages (he knows around 10), exploring Wellington's many walkways, acting in the theatre, public speaking at Toastmasters, and collecting early English dictionaries.
